Ready, Set Skate RENTAL  Program

**CDC guidelines restrict Doug Woog Arena from renting skates currently on hand. Blades n Motion have teamed up with Riedell Skates to offer a special rental skate program to our 2021 skaters.

Skaters needing to rent skates will be fitted for NEW rental skates on the first day of each session by Riedell skate representative.   For the safety and health well-being of the skater, skates will be kept until last day of session they are participating and returned to Blades N Motion.

COVID -19  Lesson Information

-Skaters and coaches will be required to wear a mask at all times on and off the ice.

Skaters between the ages of 2 and 5 years are not required to wear a mask.   

  • Skaters may enter the building 15mn prior to lesson time
  • Front door of Woog arena will be monitored by staff
  •  Locker rooms will be available for putting on skates only , along with designated benches in arena
  • No parents or spectators are allowed in facility for classes with the exception of skaters 8 and under may have 1 parent in the building


Clarification:
Participants who need assistance to participate in the activity due to age, medical condition, or disability, are each allowed to have one parent, guardian, or adult support person present to support them.  Parents, guardians, and support persons must maintain social distancing of at least six feet from persons in other households and wear masks

Suggestion
Skaters 9 and older who have difficulty tying skates should arrive with skates / guards on.  If that’s not possible Blades n Motion will have staff on hand to tie skates if needed.

  •  NO equipment bags

 Clarification:
No equipment bags means HOCKEY.  Small bags/ ZUCA bags to carry skates, gloves and   guards are OK

  • Rental skates will not be available thru the arena but will be offered thru the Ready Set Skate Rental Program
  • Skate Aids used will be sanitized after each class
  • Parents are not allowed on the ice or in the player’s bench area and may watch from bleachers, social distancing rules apply in bleacher area.
  • Concession stand and drinking fountains will not be available
  • Rest rooms in arena will be available for use

Program Curriculum: The Ice Skating Institute (ISI) is an international association encompassing all aspects of the ice skating industry and will be the choice of programming. Classes for all ages and ability will be offered in a safe environment to learn and excel with the focus on FUN.

Little Folks 1 Ages 3-5 – No Skating experience

Little Folks 2 Ages 3-5 –  Skater can fall down, get up and skate unassisted

Beginner – Ages 6-up-Little or no experience but can skate unassisted

Pre Alpha – Passed Beginner Class or can skate the width of rink independently.

Alpha –  Forward Stroking, Forward Crossovers & Stopping

Beta – Backward crossovers and T-stops

Gamma & Delta –  3 turns, edges, bunny hops, mohawks, lunges

Freestyle – Basic jumps & spins following the ISI curriculum

Mite Development – Player must be able to skate independently, fall & get up unassisted, perform forward swizzles and beginning of a stop.  If unsure if you player is ready for Mite Development call 651-283-4467.

FAMILY DISCOUNT

If you are registering more than one skater in your family, you will receive a $15 discount on the 2nd (3rd + all additional children) registration fee. In order for the registration system to recognize that you are registering multiple skaters, please register all of your skaters at this time. On the Review Page, there is a link near the bottom to “Register Another Skater” – please click on this link to ensure that all of your skaters are registered within the same order.
